How You Can Help

The Berkeley Youth Orchestra is well regarded as one of the finest youth orchestral programs in the Bay Area. Offering three performances annually at Laney College Theater every season, BYO is also the first full symphonic orchestra experience for most of its members.

As most non-profit organizations BYO’s tuition covers 70% of its annual budget, not to mention the budget necessary to offer financial aid to deserving young musicians who otherwise could not participate in its program.

To supplement our budget and keep its financial aid offer BYO relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors. DONATE NOW.

Here are just a few ways your donation supports BYO students

$1,500 - Underwrites the full cost of instruction & expenses for one musician for a full season

$1,000 - Underwrites the total personnel cost for BYO per musician for a full season, both musical and administrative, BYO’s major assets are its people.

$700 - Provides an average financial aid package for one musician in need

$250 - Underwrites the expenses for one full concert recording

$100 - Funds all administrative expenses like insurance, for one musician for a full season

$65 - Funds one chamber music coaching session

$25 - Subsidizes one season's music scores rental and all program supplies for one musician

Any amount is welcome, $10.00 goes a long way!
